INTRODUCING COMPETITION IN THE ELECTRICITY SECTOR

Introduction

The assent into law of the Energy Act, No. 1 of 2019 introduced a number of amendments to Kenya’s energy sector aimed at aligning the sector with the evolving global energy landscape. The Act repeals the Energy Act, 2006, the Kenya Nuclear Electricity Board Order, 2012 and the Geothermal Resources Act, 1982.
